Spring wardrobe cleanse

by chintiandparker

One half of Chinti and Parker, known for her chronic hoarding habits, embarked on an unprecedented wardrobe cleanse this last weekend. In fact, she’s still reeling from the shock euphoria of having space enough to find all her best-loved pieces, as well as room for some key new Chinti and Parker investments.  Here’s what she’s made space for and why:

IN: Bamboo Cashmere dress

OUT: Spray-on mini-dress

REASONING: Body-con is blessedly over, but the short, curve-skimming Bamboo Cashmere dress that drapes and clings in all the right places is a style perennial. Moreover, this one works for day, evening and the beach.

IN: Oversize T in Olive

OUT: Black fitted Tee

REASONING: A Chinti and Parker Hero piece, the oversize T has been updated in warm olive for ss11 as colour has taken on a more muted mood, and the positioning of the oversize T as modern essential cements itself.

IN: Woven T

OUT: Stained old white shirt

REASONING: Whites need to be white. And there’s something about spring that brings out the ingénue in us: the sweetly innocent cut of this top feels perfectly chic, pretty and fresh. Did we mention it looks a dream over jeans?

IN: Summer Boyfriend in Cornflower Blue

OUT: Shoulder-padded Lurex sweater

REASONING: Way too conspicuous for the 2011 mood, not to mention itchy in warmer weather. The C and P Summer Boyfriend comes in lightweight cashmere perfect for spring days or summer nights, while its slouchy cut is a wardrobe staple.

IN: Breton Dress in Navy and Cream

OUT: Bold floral print playsuit

REASONING: Some things are just too fussy. Breton stripes on the other hand are fresh as the day they were made. We love this piece as it’s easy, flattering and though feminine, never too girly.
